Michael “Shawn” Utley, of Gloucester also known as “Firewalker,” was called to be with his Lord Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.

 

He is survived by his son, Robert James Utley; his daughter, Hope Nicole Utley; parents, Jim and Pattie Utley; brothers, Aaron Utley (Tabitha Utley) and Adam Utley (Julia Adams); nephews, Trenton and Zachary Utley; niece, Allyson Utley; his girlfriend, Rebecca Crockett (the mother of Hope Utley); his godparents, Ashley Parker and Betsy Perry; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

 

Preceding him in death were his son, Braeden Utley; grandparents, Bernard Utley, Maybelle Utley, Josephine Utley, and Margaret St. Pierre, and his cousin, Elijah Rodriguez.

 

Shawn graduated from Gloucester High School in 1993. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his family and friends. He always wore a smile and could make you laugh when you were down.

 

Shawn will be sadly missed.

 

There will be a celebration of his life at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Bellamy Hunt Club, 6919 Oscar Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.

 

Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
