Michael Alan Mitchell, age 53, of Gloucester, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Michael enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a great cook who inherited his skill from his grandmother, Gladys, and learned how to make incredible sushi and other dishes from his mother-in-law, Miyoko. Michael retired from the Navy after 24 years, only to go back to NOSTRA to work alongside the military as the Director of Quality Assurance. Michael is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Miko Colvin, Loren Colvin, Brody Mitchell (Rachel); father, Harris Frank Mitchell; sister, Carla Mitchell Pratt, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 6-7:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be private.
