MHS wrestlers defeat 3 schools

The Mathews High School wrestling team traveled to King William High School last Wednesday where they faced three other schools.
The Blue Devil grapplers defeated all with outstanding numbers, taking their season record to 4-1. The scores of each match were 63-18 against Westmoreland, 66-12 to King and Queen, and a final score of 49-28 against King William.Freshman Darin Echeverria won all of his three matches as a first-year wrestler. Echeverria won two of the matches by a pin and the other by forfeit. Sophomore Zac Salvadori also won all of his matches, two of which were by forfeit, one by pin.
The MHS wrestling team returns to action this Saturday at Lancaster High School to compete in the Lancaster Duals, starting at 9:30 a.m., hoping to bring home the win.
