Tryouts for Mathews High School’s volleyball and cross country teams begin next week.
Varsity volleyball tryouts will be held Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 11 a.m., with JV tryouts scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. those days.
Cross country will meet at the Thomas Hunter Middle School track pavilion from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. next Friday, Aug. 9. On Wednesday, Aug. 8, the cross country program will meet at Beaverdam Park, Gloucester.
Cheerleading practices began this past Tuesday and continue from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays at Mathews Elementary School. Football practices are also underway and are being held Monday through Friday from 5-7 p.m. Golf practices are to be determined.
