MHS track competes at Charles City Invitational

The Mathews High School track and field team participated in Friday’s Charles City Invitational, a meet rescheduled from March 23.
The Blue Devils represented themselves very well against some good competition. Notable performances on the girls’ side included sophomore Nora Suthard, who continues to impress with another strong showing. She placed seventh in the 100m, sixth in the 200m, fourth in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. Freshman Jordan Sadeq finished eighth in the 100H.
On the boys’ side, junior Donovan Forrest won the 110HH in a state leading time of 15.51. He also placed eighth in the 100m. Junior Keith Taylor placed sixth in the triple jump and the high jump. Junior Jerell Johson placed eighth in 200m. Sophomore Salvador Cardenas finished sixth in the 1600m. Sophomore Chance Higginbotham was eighth in the 800m. Sophomore Jon Jenkins placed fourth in the 3200m.
