MHS track athletes compete in quad meet

Mathews High School track and field athletes competed last Thursday in a quad meet along with teams from Westmoreland, Lancaster and Middlesex at Middlesex High School’s track facility.
Mathews boys had a strong showing. Some highlights for the boys were: Donovan Forrest won the 110HH in a PR of 15.04 and the 100m, and was second in the long jump. Keith Taylor won the 400m and the triple jump. Gavin Dustin won the 800m. Chance Higginbotham won the 3200m. Jerell Johnson finished second in the 200m, Jon Jenkins was second in the 3200.
On the girls’ side, Jordan Sadeg finished second in both the 100H and the 300H and third in the long jump. Middle schoolers Adrianna Forrest (third in the 100m and fifth in the 200), Shalan Deese (second in the high jump) and Meredith Salvadori (second in the 400m) all performed well. Elizabeth Moore continues to impress, winning the 1600m and finishing second in the 800m.
The Blue Devils travel to West Point today, May 2.
