The Mathews High School Athletics Department will hold a Comedy Night fundraiser Saturday night.
Coach Tom Holaday, Sonya King and Sid Bridge will star in the stand-up comedy show, which will be held in the school’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7.
Holaday, a retired educator who served many years as a wresting and football coach for Gloucester and Mathews high schools, performs on American Cruise Lines and can be heard on the SiriusXM clean comedy channel.
King has been seen on ABC’s Good Morning America and The View. Bridge is a regular at Cozzy’s Comedy Club in Newport News and also performs at the Virginia Beach Funny Bone.
Additionally, Holaday said there’s a good chance his previous headline comedians will drop by for a special guest set, a headliner list that includes SiriusXM favorite (and MHS graduate) Lucas Bohn, 1990s Tonight Show guest Brett Leake, and Bob Somerby from HBO.
Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Advance tick...
