MHS String Orchestra

The Mathews High School String Orchestra received Straight Superior Ratings for the second year in a row at last weekend’s VBODA State Assessment. The orchestra traveled to Menchville High School Saturday and performed three prepared selections and sight-read a piece of music in front of judges. All three stage judges and the sight-reading judge gave the group the group Superior Ratings (the best possible rating). The group will be preparing next for their end of year competition on April 11 and on their Spring Concert, which will be on May 15 at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at MHS. Members taking part in the assessment included, front row from left: Vic DeForge, Hannah Stillwaggon, Riley Tripp; back row, Annabelle Miller, Ethan White, Bethany Davis and Tristan Barnes.
