MHS soccer teams end season against Middlesex

The Mathews High School soccer teams faced the Middlesex Chargers Monday night in the last regular season game for the varsity boys, varsity girls and JV teams. The Mathews boys fell to Middlesex, 3-1, the girls lost, 9-1, and, in the only bright spot for the Devils, the JV squad pulled out a 3-2 win.

Salvador Cardenas scored the only goal for Mathews in Monday’s varsity boys’ loss. The loss drops the team’s record to 7-9. Last Wednesday, the MHS boys crushed King and Queen, 13-2, with Andrew Greve scoring five goals and five assists. The team is scheduled to travel to Northampton next Thursday, May 25, to start the regional tournament.
