The Mathews High School boys’ and girls’ varsity cross country teams celebrated a double-win last Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the King Carter Golf Course in Irvington.
Leading the trail was Andrew Greve with a finishing time of 18:24. Following Greve were Carlos Clayborn with a time of 18:47 and Seth James (18:50).
Gavin Dustin finished next for Mathews in 18:56, followed by Salvador Cardenas (19:19), Blake Hunley (19:22), Chance Higginbotham (19:26), Jaxon McDonald (19:35), Jon Jenkins (19:49), Adam Dustin (20:00), Zachary Salvadori (21:05), Adam Greve (21:10), Bryce Larson (21:45), Elias Hildago (21:45), Cole Christensen (JV) (22:03), Franklin Cardenas (22:13), Colin Moore (22:22), Hunter Horsley (JV) (23:50), James Morgan (24:48), Stanley Ouma (26:52), Brayden Larson (JV) (27:04) and Eric Cardenas (JV) (28:04). The boys finished with a team score of 15.
For the girls, Lauren Johnson led the way with a finishing time of 22:32, followed by Adelle Hudgins in 22:39 and Elizabeth Moore (JV) ...
