Mathews High School will hold its homecoming on Friday; and for the first time in several years, the celebration will include a football game, with the return of the Blue Devils to the gridiron. The school will hold a pep rally from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m., with the parade through Mathews Court House at 4 (line up at 3 p.m. at Thomas Hunter Middle School). The homecoming game against the visiting King and Queen Tigers starts at 7. Halftime will include a show from the MHS Marching Band and the crowning of the king and queen from among this year’s senior candidates. On Saturday night, the celebration concludes with the homecoming dance.
