The Mathews High School golf team faced the Rappa-hannock Raiders last Thursday at the Piankatank River Golf Club. Mathews compiled a team score of 215, falling to the Raiders, who ended the day with 190.
Chase Ambrose led the pack with the lowest score for MHS with a 44, followed by Adam Dustin with a 48. “We took another loss but I still have no disappointment in my team,” coach Jake Jackson said. “These young men still tend to make me proud to be their coach. Seeing how much they are enjoying the game itself makes it priceless for me.”
Mathews was scheduled to return to the Hartfield course on Tuesday to face Middlesex and again on Wednesday against King William.
