The Mathews High School golf team lost its match to Middlesex on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield, 160-233, according to coach Wayne Lewis.
Chase Ambrose was the low scorer for Mathews with 51. No matches scheduled for next week. The Mathews players will return to the links on Monday, Sept. 11 when the squad will face off against Essex at the Hartfield course, beginning at 4 p.m.
