MHS girls fall to Northumberland

After the Mathews High School varsity girls’ soccer team took a loss to Christchurch School on April 11, the Lady Devils traveled to Northumberland High School on Monday, hoping to pick up their first win of the season.
Unfortunately, the MHS girls came up empty, falling to the Indians, 4-0. Mathews had four shots on goal, all of which were saved by the Northumberland keeper.
Junior Zoe Camp had three steals in the game, along with six intercepts. Defensive player Kat Murphy managed to get a player on the opposing team caught in an offsides trap.
The MHS girls look to get into the win column on Friday when they host West-moreland High School, starting at 6 p.m.
