MHS cross country comes out on top again

The Mathews High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams took another win last Wednesday, Oct. 11, at their home trail at Beaverdam Park.
Seth James finished first overall with a time of 17:27. Salvador Cardenas placed second, crossing the line at 17:41. Andrew Greve was six seconds behind Cardenas, placing third.
Next for Mathews was Chance Higginbotham with a time of 18:02, followed by Carlos Clayborn (18:24), Blake Hunley (18:26), Adam Dustin (18:47), Zachary Salvadori (19:15), Noah Hurst (19:31), Jaxon McDonald (19:45), Franklin Cardenas (20:06), Adam Greve (20:13), Samuel Miranda (20:21), Colin Moore (20:25), Elias Hidalgo (20:28), Cole Christensen (JV, 20:39), Jon Jenkins (20:40), Brayden Larson (20:47), Greyson Clements (20:57), Hunter Horsley (22:09), James Morgan (22:51), Eric Cardenas (JV, 23:09), Bryce Larson (JV, 23:45) and Stanley Ouma (24:06).
The boys finished the race with a team score of 19.
Lauren Johnson finished first overall for the girls with a time of 21:34. ...
