The Mathews High School Class of 1974 held its 50th class reunion on Saturday, May 18, at the Mathews Yacht Club in Hudgins. Forty-eight class members, six teachers and 30 guests attended. A special recognition was made of teachers in attendance, and a memorial tribute was given to 23 class members who are deceased. Class members traveled from Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, and throughout Virginia to attend. The Mathews Yacht Club provided dinner and music for the event.
