MHS boys rally to beat Drifters, 13-12

The Mathews High School varsity baseball team posted a thrilling comeback win on Friday, beating the Colonial Beach Drifters on the road, 13-12.
Mathews was held to only two runs in the first five innings, coming up with 11 more in the top of the sixth and seventh to pull ahead for the victory.
Justin Jones, Timmy Dehoux and Danny Hogge combined for the victory on the mound, with Dehoux notching six strikeouts, Hogge striking out four and Jones striking out one. Dehoux, Hogge, Zac Salvadori and Chris Buchanan had multiple hits in the win.
On Tuesday, the varsity Devils traveled to Northumberland, falling to the Indians, 17-4. Northumberland did most of their scoring in the fourth inning, taking advantage of errors to pick up 14 runs.
The Devils were scheduled to host Franklin on Wednesday afternoon. The team will travel to Westmoreland on Friday in the final game before spring break.
