MHS boys beat K&Q, King William

The Mathews High School boys’ varsity soccer team picked up a pair of wins this week, shutting out King and Queen on Friday, 5-0, and defeating King William in front of a home crowd Monday night, 3-1.
In other soccer action, the MHS varsity girls fell to Westmoreland and King William in a pair of home games while the JV Devils shut out the Cavaliers to boost its season record to 8-1-1.

The Blue Devil boys traveled to King and Queen on Friday to defeat the Tigers, 5-0. Goals in this game were scored by Fabian Cardenas, Andrew Greve and Massimo Mastromano. Three of the assists in this game came from Seth James.
After the outstanding win on Friday, the varsity boys were looking for another win on Monday against the visiting Cavaliers. They went into the game only letting one goal pass by, winning by a 3-1 margin. The three goals were scored by Greve, Elias Hidalgo, and Cardenas.
These two wins improved the team’s season record to 5-7.
