A number of Mathews High School athletes received recognition for their performance in fall sports. Senior Lindsay Coons won second-team All-District honors in volleyball and went on to receive Honorable Mention for All-Region.Three members of the MHS football team received second-team All-District honors—Salvador Cardenas won for his play as a receiver; Mikey Ray for linebacker; and Franklin Cardenas both as a defensive back and defensive all-purpose player.
