A funeral for Merlan “Bud Boy” Smith of Gloucester, will be held at noon Saturday in the First United Baptist Church, Gloucester. He died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Walter Reed Hospital, Gloucester.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Smith; two daughters, Tee Smith and Cynthia Kelley; a son, Irving Smith; two sisters, Barbara Jackson and Eunice Smith; two brothers, Garnett Smith and Neal Smith, and grandchildren.

Viewing will be at the church from 10 a.m. until hour of service.

Burial will be in Poplar Woods Cemetery, Cardinal.
