Merchant prepares for the fall sales season

Mr. Robert L. Sears, manager of Sears & Williams, has just left for Baltimore to replenish his stock. The millinery and cloak department will be features of the establishment this season. Mr. Sears has gone there in time so that he can get the best that money can secure.
For sale at Gloucester C.H., on Monday, Oct. 7, one saw mill complete, with the exception of the boiler. Can be seen on the land of Dr. Sincoe on Purton Farm near Signpine P.O., Gloucester County. For particulars address L. C. Garnett, Mathews C.H., Va.
Mr. Floyd Hurst has completed his new home at Diggs Wharf. The family moved into it last week.

Mathews County is on a grand frolic this week and the scene of the big time is the Mathews Fair which opened Tuesday morning, with a better race program, more midway attractions, better exhibits and more conveniences than ever before.
