Gloucester County officials will hold a meeting at 7 o’clock tonight, Thursday, Nov. 10, to address concerns of local watermen and others who use the Aberdeen Creek Wharf.
The county has received a $112,000 grant from the Virginia Port Authority’s Aid to Local Ports Program to replace the two-pier structure, which is in severe disrepair. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the T.C. Walker Education Center’s Cafeteria, 6099 T.C. Walker Road, Gloucester.
“We want to receive as much input as possible from the watermen and other community members that use the site on a regular basis,” said county administrator Carol Steele. “We want to know when the piers are most frequently used to help us coordinate the upcoming rebuild of the structure.”
