The Mathews Spring Cleanup was held on Saturday along various roads throughout the county. Here, Democrats Mark and Janet Deschak, at left, were assigned to clean up one end of the portion of Glebe Road between Church Street and Buckley Hall Road, while Republicans Jonathan Putt and Arlene Armentor were assigned to clean up the other end. “I told them to meet in the middle,” said Steve Pope with a laugh. Pope is the clean community coordinator for the Mathews Visitor and Information Center, which organized the event.
