MCSO makes arrest in shooting into occupied dwelling case

The Mathews County Sheriff’s Office released a report on an arrest made on Wednesday, March 26, for shooting into an occupied dwelling.
According to the report, deputies and investigators responded to the 1300 block of Cricket Hill Road in Hudgins after a victim called to report that they were sitting in their bedroom at approximately 2 a.m. when someone fired a projectile through their window.
The victim took measures to conceal themselves and later discovered that someone had fired a shot at the windshield of their vehicle, which was parked next to the residence.
Sheriff’s office personnel collected evidence and documented the scene and conducted a wide canvas of the area at the time of the investigation. Information collected led investigators to focus on a male suspect who lives in the same area.
