Employees of Mathews County Public Schools got ready for the 2024-2025 school year last Wednesday as superintendent Dr. David S. Daniel officially welcomed teachers and staff at the division’s Opening Day Convocation in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School.
The ceremony began with the Presentation of the Colors and Pledge of Allegiance by Mathews High School NJROTC cadets, a rendition of God Bless America by music teachers Eileen Edmonds and Mark Givens, and the introduction of guests by assistant superintendent Lesley Hunley.
Special guests included members of the Mathews County School Board and Mathews County Board of Supervisors.Daniel and principals introduced new employees of Mathews County Public Schools for the 2024-2025 school year. Introductions included Thomas Hunter Middle School’s new principal, Jodie Simpson.
