The Mathews Community Foundation Advisory Board recently welcomed two new members. Easley Johnson and Bronwyn Hughes will each serve three-year terms working on various committees of the foundation.
Johnson is a native Virginian and graduate of the Episcopal High School and Hampden-Sydney College. He began his career after college as a teacher and writer. In 1982, he transitioned to the commercial printing business, owning several printing companies in Virginia until retiring in 2022.
With his wife Beth Johnson, he currently owns and operates Salt Cedar Farm, a small flower farm in Mathews. The farm specializes in cut flowers and sunflowers. Easley has two children and two grandsons.
Hughes, originally from Washington, D.C., is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of accounting experience. She and her spouse, Kat Sharp, have lived in Mathews for 22 years where they worked, served on local nonprofit boards, and raised their daughter. In her free time, Hughes enjoys biking, k...
