A new book by author/historican Martha McCartney of Mathews has just been released.
Her book, “The Governor’s Land Archaeological District: Insights From Documentary Sources” is available at Amazon.com.
A description on Amazon states, “The Governor’s Land, a 3,000-acre tract, is situated just west of Jamestown Island, in James City County. The Virginia Company of London set the parcel aside in 1618 to provide support to the colony’s incumbent governor.”
