Mayan art expert to speak at Arts on Main

Dr. Lee Anne Chesterfield of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will speak at Arts on Main’s quarterly membership meeting, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. next Thursday, Feb. 23, at the gallery on Main Street, Gloucester.
Chesterfield, the director for Museum Planning and Board Relations and assistant curator of Ancient American Art at VMFA, will share her expertise on Mayan art. In addition, Arts on Main’s artist of the month, Mary Montague Sikes, will be on hand to discuss her Mayan-inspired artwork, which is on display at the gallery.
