Mathews County students participated in a regional art contest hosted by the Tidewater Soil & Water Conservation District, with the theme “May The Forest Be With You.” Brandy Minor, a sixth grader from Thomas Hunter Middle School, took second place in the 4th-6th grade category and Caden Cyhanick received a participation certificate.
