May Faire 2020, which was set to take place in Mathews County on May 2, has been cancelled.
May Faire is a project of the Mathews Historical Museum which bills itself as a spring heritage festival. The first was held in 2017, and each year the festival has focused on one theme of the county’s history.
The theme for 2020 was going to be “Celebrating Our Mathews Water Heritage” with a focus on the history and work of watermen.
John A. Caramia Jr., chairman of the museum’s board of directors, announced the cancellation on Monday. He said the same theme will be adopted for 2021.
