Mathews Women’s Giving Circle holds Kick-Off meeting

The Mathews Women’s Giving Circle held its Kick-Off 2020-2021 meeting electronically via Zoom onOct. 27.
Nelda Gibbs, cafeteria manager for Mathews County Public Schools, spoke to circle members about her team’s role in keeping families and children fed during the uncertain times of the pandemic.
Gibbs painted a picture of the services the cafeteria provides “through wonderful and heartfelt stories,” according to a press release, and she gave statistics on how she was able to use a grant from the Women’s Giving Circle over the summer.
Grant money from MWGC supplied over 25,000 breakfasts and lunches to children throughout the county, said the release, adding, “without collective giving, this might not have been possible.”
