The Mathews County Wetlands Zoning Board approved all three requests before it when it met on Wednesday, March 4, in the historic courthouse.
The first request was from Lynda Rice. She asked to revise her existing application to install a 15 foot return wall attached to a permitted bulkhead. The project is located along the Piankatank River shoreline.
The Terry C. Edwards Revocable Trust, in its request, asked for multiple items for its project. The first was two breakwaters, one 60 feet in length, and the other 100 feet in length. Next was 92-feet of marsh sill with a 30-foot-return into the uplands with 1,700 cubic yards of like-quality fill along Mobjack Bay.
The last was submitted by Fred and Cheryl Fielding. They sought approval to construct 150 feet of stone sill with sand backfill and 200 feet of riprap. The project is located along the shoreline of Stutts Creek. All three requests were approved unanimously.
