The Mathews High School spring sports teams head into post-season play this week.
On Wednesday, the MHS softball team was scheduled to take part in the first round of regionals at Chincoteague, while the MHS boys’ and girls’ track and field teams were heading to Charles City for the regional championships.
Mathews began hosting the Region 1A doubles and singles girls’ tennis tournament on Wednesday; that continues today, Thursday, May 23, beginning at 10 a.m.
The MHS baseball team is scheduled to face Essex today, Thursday, May 23, in the first round of the regional tournament. Also today, the MHS boys’ and girls’ soccer teams were scheduled to face Middlesex and Northampton in 6 p.m. games.
This Friday and Saturday, the MHS crew will compete in the Scholastic Rowing Association of America Regatta in Camden, N.J.
