Alcat Precast, Inc., of Moon plans to locate a new manufacturing facility at Cobbs Creek within the next several years, president Allen S. Farmer said. The new plant will replace a septic tank manufacturing facility at Moon, which is located off Haven Beach Road.
Also, Farmer said he is exploring opening a septic tank manufacturing facility in New Kent County, which would help him cover his broad service area more thoroughly.
The present Alcat plant is located not far from the company’s administrative office on Blue Crab Drive at Moon. From there, Farmer also runs his other family-owned business, Farmer’s Septic Service Inc.
Farmer’s grandfather, John H. Bing, started the septic service shortly returning from serving in World War II. Bing later also had other business ventures including land clearing and farming.
