Mathews scavenger hunt book on sale at May Faire

A new book featuring a scavenger hunt to identify buildings in Mathews Court House will go on sale Saturday at May Faire.
“Mathews County Scavenger Hunt—A Different Point of View” was written and illustrated by local author Janet Burgess.
Burgess said the book features images of buildings and everyday subjects found in the village, taken from unusual angles, along with information regarding the current and former life of the subjects. There is also a listing of all exterior Automated Exterior Defibrillators in the county.
The scavenger hunt seeks participants by giving clues to identify each site, complete a list found in the back of the book, and take it to a business listed on the page. She said participating businesses will exchange the form for a prize discount.
