The Mathews Rotary Club will hold its ninth annual Chili Cook-Off from 4:30-7 p.m. on the day before this year’s Super Bowl, Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at the Piankatank Ruritan Club building in Hudgins.
Tickets ($20 each) are available from each of the contestants as well as Chesapeake Bank, the Mathews Visitor & Information Center and Haskins Bayside.
This year’s contestants who will be vying for the title of Best Chili include the Bay School, Mathews Historical Museum, Mathews Land Conservancy, Mathews Kiwanis Club, Farmers Focus/Supply One and Mathews Rotary Club.
“As you know, this event has become one of the biggest social events of the winter in Mathews,” said Chili Cook-Off Committee chair Bill Stearns. “With over 500 people at the Piankatank Ruritan Club, the night before the Super Bowl, it is a fun and enjoyable experience.”
Contestants will not only compete for Best Chili in Mathews, they will also be raising money to improve the lives of Mathews residents. As in years past...
