The Voter Registrar’s office in Mathews has moved to its new location at Liberty Square on Buckley Hall Road, just in time for the 2020 election.
Registrar Carla Faulkner said that voter registration and absentee voting will now be handled either at a walk-up window that was created to provide easy access, or inside the building, where access has been designed to be as safe and efficient as possible.
Faulkner said she also wants to get the word out about how elections are handled in Virginia in order to reassure local voters that the process is safe. On behalf of her office and the Mathews Electoral Board, she provided information about changes to voting procedures, including absentee voting and identification. In addition, she is sending a card to all registered voters in Mathews with information about the new office and voting.
