Mathews parade, Santa sightings and more this weekend

Do you hear those sleigh bells ringing? We are sure you do since Santa will be making appearances all weekend in Gloucester and Mathews counties, including at the Mathews Christmas Parade on Saturday.

Before the parade, the Mathews Main Street Committee will hold its Farmers’ Christmas Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Court Street. Tompkins Cottage Museum will also hold its Christmas House, beginning at 10 o’clock Saturday morning.
The Mathews Christmas Parade, “Blue Crab Christmas,” will step off from Thomas Hunter Middle School at 1 p.m. and will travel through Main Street to the new Chesapeake Bank location. Directly following the parade, Santa Claus will greet children at the Mathews County Visitor & Information Center.
