Mathews native named president of manufacturers association

Mathews County native John Crosby of Ashburn, has been named the next president of the Window & Door Manufacturers Association. He will succeed Michael O’Brien, who is expected to retire in March 2025.
The son of John Crosby of Mathews, the new president has served in a range of roles in his 30-year career, according to a release from the association. He spent 10 years in policy and advocacy roles after working in the U.S. House of Representatives. Since then, he has remained active in public policy communications roles with several industry associations.
Crosby gained his first exposure to the building products industry as communications and marketing director with Hanley Wood Media (now Zonda). Over the past 15 years, he became a leader in the construction and design market, the release said. He served for eight years as managing director of corporate partnerships for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
