Mathews Meals on Wheels seeks volunteer drivers

The Mathews Meals on Wheels program is in need of volunteers willing to serve two to three hours a week delivering meals to seniors in their community.
Laura Matthews, Bay Aging’s Active Lifestyle Center Manager and Meals on Wheels Coordinator in Mathews, said in a press release that Mathews County Public Schools provides “incredible home-cooked meals” for local seniors, but that getting the meals delivered is becoming a challenge.
“Unfortunately, without more volunteers, it is difficult to reach as many of our neighbors as we need to,” she said.
Bay Aging, which operates the Meals on Wheels program throughout the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, said that it can arrange a volunteer schedule that works for the individual.
