The Mathews High School boys’ and girls’ varsity cross country teams took wins at home last Wednesday, Oct. 4, at their home trail at Beaverdam Park.
Seth James led the way for Mathews with a finishing time of 17:35. Andrew Greve placed second overall with a time of 17:52, followed by Salvador Cardenas (18:09).
Carlos Clayborn finished next for Mathews with a time of 18:19, followed by Gavin Dustin (18:22), Jon Jenkins (18:26), Jaxon McDonald (18:36), Blake Hunley (18:38), Chance Higginbotham (18:41), Adam Dustin (19:08), Zachary Salvadori (19:32), Noah Hurst (19:52), Adam Greve (20:32), Samuel Miranda (20:37), Franklin Cardenas (20:57), Colin Moore (21:02), Elias Hidalgo (21:07), Brayden Larson (21:07), Cole Christensen (21:51), Greyson Clements (JV) (22:06), James Morgan (22:49), Hunter Horsley (23:04), Bryce Larson (JV) (23:46), Stanley Ouma (25:08) and Eric Cardenas (25:14).The boys won with a team score of 15.
