An amended Mathews High School football schedule was released last week that has three home games and two away contests.
The season opener will be held on Friday, Aug. 30 against the visiting John Marshall Justices at home on Mathews High School’s Ken Brown Field.
The Blue Devils’ next game will be on Friday, Oct. 11 at home against the King and Queen Tigers. That game will serve as the school’s Homecoming, with the king and queen crowned at halftime.
On Friday, Oct. 25, Mathews goes on the road to face the West Point Pointers. The Blue Devils’ third home game will be held on Friday, Nov. 1 against the Charles City Panthers. Senior athletes and band members will be recognized at the halftime of this Senior Night game.
Mathews will wrap up its first season back on the gridiron after a two-year absence, on the following Friday, Nov. 8 against the Middlesex Chargers in Saluda. All games begin at 7 p.m.
