A free showing of the film “Happy Homes and Fertile Farms on Smiling Waters” will be held on Friday, July 12 at the Mathews Museum. Doors open at 6 p.m. and showtime is at 6:30.
The event is being held to mark the 25th anniversary of the film by the late Eugene C. Hudgins. Eugene’s son, Coles Hudgins, will tell stories of his father’s production of the movie.

Hudgins narrated the 111-minute film and it includes many notable features of Mathews, as well as people. The movie was shown to a packed house at the museum, located at 200 Main Street, last year.
