Fresh vegetables, homemade bread and bakery goods, eggs, meat, and a wealth of plants, flowers, and handmade crafts items will be available for purchase during opening day at the Mathews Farmers’ Market Saturday.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Historic Court Green, located at the corner of Church and Court streets in downtown Mathews.
Sponsored by the Mathews Main Street Committee, the farmers’ market has been in existence for about 30 years, held every Saturday from April through October except during Mathews Market Days, said a press release.
More than 50 vendors participate in the weekly market, with items as varied as flower bouquets and handmade clothing, ceramics, soaps, and yarns. Various types of artwork are sold, as well.
