Mathews Community VBS to be held next week

In its second year, the Mathews Community Vacation Bible School will hold its program for rising kindergarteners through rising sixth graders June 22-25. This year’s theme is “Hero Hotline” and will even feature an adult program, operated by Q24.
According to event organizer Amber Williams, the VBS will be held at the Cobbs Creek Community Arts Center next Thursday and Friday from 5:15-8 p.m., next Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and next Sunday from 10-11 a.m.
The Bay School Community Arts Center, Mathews, will again lead art projects. Patrick Billups and Trish Rankin will be leading music.“Jesus calls us to work together,” said Williams about this year’s theme.
On Saturday, the children will be taking part in community service projects, including packing snack packs for the GUEST shelter, braiding jump ropes for Operation Christmas Child and delivering handmade crosses to Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews.
