The Mathews Community Foundation has announced that 31 grants totaling $173,241 will be awarded to local nonprofit organizations serving Mathews County.
Made possible by donor funds, Community Impact grants support local nonprofits whose programs align with the foundation’s four focus areas: cultural vibrancy, economic prosperity, educational success, and health and wellness.
“The Mathews Community Foundation works very hard each year to respond to the many requests that we receive for funding,” said Bill Whitley, chair of the MCF’s local advisory board. “It is a difficult process because we receive so many requests from organizations doing great work to improve our community. Our goal is to always try to maximize the effect of our funding to address as many needs as possible. I think when community members review the list of organizations funded this year, they will agree that we have met this challenge.”
