This year’s Mathews Christmas Store was held on Dec. 10-12. Traditionally held at Kingston Parish House, this year the store was moved to the Mathews Boys and Girls Club so that items could be spread out, giving people plenty of space for social distancing. The annual event involves the efforts and contributions of numerous churches, businesses, organizations and individuals in the Mathews community who work in partnership with Mathews County Social Services. The store is largely funded by an endowment from the Owens Foundation for Social Services Program Fund of the Mathews Community Foundation. Among the volunteers who stayed busy helping people pick out gifts for their family members were, photo at left, Dana Brown, Bernadette La Casse and Charlene Small, from left.
