The Mathews Camera Club is being revived and new members are welcome. The first meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. next Thursday, April 17, at the Phil Dunn Photography Studio, 439 Forrest Lane, Cobbs Creek.
Club meetings will include demonstrations of camera techniques or skills and critique and discussion of the photos that club members have taken, said organizer Phil Dunn. In addition to regular monthly meetings, there will be workshops and field trips, tailored to experiences the club members want, he said.
No fancy camera is required, said Dunn. A cell phone “on up” can be used.
Dunn said he started the digital photography club right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and had around 100 members before “everything fell apart.” Outdoor events were about the only way organizations could gather during the pandemic, and Dunn jumped at the chance he was offered to go on the road as a photographer of dog sporting events.
