The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will hold its first regular meeting of the new year at 6 o’clock tonight, Thursday, Jan. 18, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.
The agenda is packed, beginning with presentation of the annual audit by Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates. In addition to regular department reports, the board will deal with unfinished business such as appointments to boards and commissions, and adoption of the bylaws.
Items of new business on the agenda are a review of budget guidelines, a report on an audit of the clerk’s office, a funding request by Sheriff April Edwards, a rollover resolution request by superintendent of schools Dr. David S. Daniel, and a discussion of a memorandum of understanding regarding constitutional offices. A film producer with Nova Cat Films in Northern Virginia will make a request to film on location at Haven Beach.
