Mathews Baptist Church, Hudgins, honored its graduating high school seniors on Sunday in a special outdoor service. Graduating seniors recognized were Allen Moore, Avery Betz, Brooke Barefoot, Caroline Bray, Casey Elliott, Jerry Velez, Kamryn Blake, Maddy Bower and Tanner Sears.
William Earl Sadler, Barefoot’s uncle, wrote an original song for the graduates. Called “Last Goodbye,” he performed it on a keyboard for the graduates during the service.

Each graduate was given a photo book with candid shots of all of their trips, service projects and activities since the time they started the Mathews Baptist youth group in the sixth grade.
Attendees had the option of either watching the service from their cars or taking advantage of the lawn seating provided by the church. The seniors will graduate from Mathews High School Sunday afternoon.
